Basketball Game Preview: Leigh Longhorns vs. Christopher Cougars

The Leigh Longhorns will challenge the Christopher Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Leigh easily dispatched Branham on Wednesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Leigh fell just short of Westmont by a score of 56-53 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Longhorns have suffered since January 10, 2024.

Meanwhile, Christopher had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.3 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They came out on top against the Rams by a score of 54-44. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 74th, while the Rams are ranked 266th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leigh's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Christopher, their win was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-2.
