Baseball Game Preview: Potomac School Panthers vs. Georgetown Day Mighty Hoppers

For the second straight game, Potomac School will face off against Georgetown Day. The Panthers will square off against the Mighty Hoppers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Potomac School's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last four games.

Potomac School played in-conference for the first time on Tuesday and got just the result they were looking for. They put the hurt on Georgetown Day with a sharp 13-3 victory. That's two games straight that the Panthers have won by exactly ten runs.

Gavin Speigel tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. He has become a key player for Potomac School: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-5 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jason Seeber, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. Jake Adamec was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4.

Potomac School was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .324 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Potomac School pushed their record up to 4-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Georgetown Day, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
