It was a good run, but Cairo unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a blow against the Benton Rangers, falling 92-45. While losing is never fun, the Pilots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 413th, while the Rangers are ranked 14th).

Cairo's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Benton, the win keeps them at an undefeated 16-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cairo will take on New Madrid County Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
