Volleyball Recap: Durant Takes a Loss

Durant was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Plant City Raiders. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Plant City scored at least 17 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-17, 25-19.

Sarah Dube paced Durant's offense, picking up five kills. Dube got some help from Isabella Bowen and her 15 assists. Sophie Settles controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Durant's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Plant City, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.

Coming up, Durant will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Hillsborough at 7:30 p.m. The last three games the Terriers have played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Plant City, they will head out to face off against Freedom at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
