Football Recap: Mckylin Carrier Key Part of Team Effort in Saints Win

Washington-Marion kept up with St. Louis Catholic until halftime on Friday, but afterwards: not so much. The Saints were the clear victors by a 46-26 margin over the Charging Indians. The Saints' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

St. Louis Catholic's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from McKylin Carrier, who rushed for 112 yards and a pair of TDs. Those 112 rushing yards gave Carrier a new career-high. Another signal caller making a difference was Konner Boudreaux, who threw for 86 yards and two touchdowns.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 14 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Trace Moreau, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Despite the loss, Washington-Marion still got an impressive performance from Monte Farmer, who rushed for 31 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 211 yards and one TD while completing 74.1% of his passes.

St. Louis Catholic's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Washington-Marion, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

St. Louis Catholic has already played their next matchup, a 43-23 loss against Iowa on the 2nd. As for Washington-Marion, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 44-26 victory against Peabody on the 3rd.
