Softball Recap: Athens Comes Up Short

Athens fell victim to Thorp and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They came up short against the Cardinals, falling 8-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Bluejays in their meetings with the Cardinals: they've now lost six in a row.

Athens' loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Thorp, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-7.

Coming up, Athens will take on Wausau East at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bluejays are facing the Lumberjacks at the right time seeing as the Lumberjacks are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Thorp, they will challenge McDonell Central at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
