Basketball Game Preview: Stockdale Brahmas vs. Poth Pirates

Stockdale is 0-8 against Poth since January of 2015 but things could change on Tuesday. The Stockdale Brahmas will face off against the Poth Pirates at 6:15 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a five-game winning streak alive.

Last Friday, Stockdale was able to grind out a solid win over Nixon-Smiley, taking the game 57-46.

Meanwhile, Poth beat Goliad 33-26 on Friday. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 420th, while the Tigers are ranked 1014th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Poth has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. As for Stockdale, they pushed their record up to 9-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Stockdale took a serious blow against Poth in their previous matchup back in January of 2020, falling 87-45. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Stockdale was down 48-19.
