The Del Valle Conquistadores will take on the El Dorado Aztecs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Del Valle knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully El Dorado likes a good challenge.
Del Valle is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest victory since December 6, 2024 on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Hanks 64-61.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Del Valle to victory, but perhaps none more so than Josiah Nunez, who posted ten points and eight rebounds. Nunez is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Byan Mei, who had 12 points in addition to seven boards and four steals.
Del Valle smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask El Dorado). They walked away with a 66-53 victory over Hanks on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Aztecs.
El Dorado found their leader in sophomore Jacob Villalobos, who went 6 of 9 on his way to 24 points. That's the most points Villalobos has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Quintez Floyd, who put up nine points and eight rebounds.
El Dorado is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.1 points per game. As for Del Valle, their win bumped their record up to 14-9.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Del Valle has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 26.3 rebounds per game. However, it's not like El Dorado struggles in that department as they've been averaging 23 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Del Valle came out on top in a nail-biter against El Dorado in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, sneaking past 51-48. Will Del Valle repeat their success, or does El Dorado have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
