Softball Recap: Brocton Bulldogs vs. Gowanda Panthers
Brocton is still winless after their contest against Gowanda on Thursday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-8 two weeks ago.
Joleena Doner was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those doubles marked the first that she has hit this season. Paige Miller was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Brocton's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Gowanda, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.
Looking ahead, Brocton will welcome Randolph at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Gowanda, they will venture away from home to face off against Clarence at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
