Basketball Recap: Cedar Ridge Comes Up Short

Cedar Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 48-39 to the Reagan Rattlers.

When it comes to explaining why Cedar Ridge lost, don't look at Bryson Batton. Despite the final result, he posted 15 points. Jordan Welsh also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Reagan's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Andrew Federspiel, who went 6-for-9 on his way to 13 points and six boards. Federspiel is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ozmel Bowen, who scored 13 points and five rebounds.

Cedar Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Reagan, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Cedar Ridge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 79-74 defeat against Weiss on the 6th. As for Reagan, they have also already played their next game, a 71-67 victory against Cedar Hill on the 6th.
