Softball Game Preview: Dinuba Emperors vs. Tulare Western Mustangs

The Dinuba Emperors will venture away from home to take on the Tulare Western Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Dinuba hasn't scored more than two runs for three games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

Dinuba came up short against Hanford on Wednesday, falling 8-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Emperors have suffered against the Bullpups since February 29, 2020.

Dinuba saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kiley Gomez, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Tulare Western fell victim to Mission Oak and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 11-0 to the Hawks. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Dinuba's defeat dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Tulare Western, their loss dropped their record down to 13-7-1.

Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Dinuba hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .338. However, it's not like Tulare Western struggles in that department as they've averaged .364. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Dinuba took their win against Tulare Western in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 16-7 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Emperors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
