Softball Recap: Gadsden City Victorious

Gadsden City's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 12-11 win over the Gaston Bulldogs. The Titans' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Bella Gray spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and eight unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Shay Kitchens was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. Jalynn Odom was another key player, scoring three runs while going 1-for-4.

Gadsden City kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Gadsden City's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gadsden City will face off against Glencoe at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gaston, they will welcome Jacksonville Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
