Basketball Recap: Pelion Victorious

Pelion had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 52-45 victory over the American Leadership Academy Patriots on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Patriots on Thursday, they had to take a 58-56 loss.

Kolton Rogers continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6-for-8 on his way to 23 points and eight boards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. Zyan Davis was another key player, putting up 11 points and three steals.

American Leadership Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Braxton Redding, who posted 11 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Newton, who earned nine points.

Pelion's win bumped their record up to 16-8. As for American Leadership Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-18 record this season.

Looking ahead, Pelion will venture away from home to take on Chesnee at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Chesnee's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven games. American Leadership Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
