Baseball Recap: Dothan Triumphs

Dothan's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Providence Christian Eagles, sneaking past 3-1. The victory continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won four in a row.

Aaron Walker tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Emmanuel Lewis was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Dothan is 2-1 when Lewis posts two or more stolen bases, but 2-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Coskrey, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run.

Dothan's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Providence Christian, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dothan will challenge Cottonwood at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Providence Christian, they will face off against Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
