Baseball Recap: St. Mary Takes a Loss

St. Mary had lost five straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 10-6 to make it six. They fell just short of the Smith Vo-Tech Vikings by a score of 4-3. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

For Smith Vo-Tech's part, Kaleb Jorritsma made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Jorritsma was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles and two runs. Those three doubles gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Logan Brothers, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
