Basketball Game Preview: Menlo School Knights vs. Half Moon Bay Cougars

The Menlo School Knights will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against the Half Moon Bay Cougars at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in Menlo School's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Half Moon Bay has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.

Menlo School's tournament run continued when they took on Hanalani on Monday. Menlo School put the hurt on Hanalani with a sharp 55-30 win. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Knights' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 228th in California, while the Royals are ranked 44th in Hawaii).

Meanwhile, Half Moon Bay was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 52-47 to Aptos.

Menlo School is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.8 points per game. As for Half Moon Bay, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-2.
