            Baseball Recap: Bishop Machebeuf Buffaloes vs. Lyons Lions        
        
		
        
        
            Bishop Machebeuf took a 11-run  loss the last time they faced off against Lyons, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Buffaloes beat the Lions on Thursday by the very same score they won with in their prior game:  4-2. This was payback for the Buffaloes, who suffered  an  11-0  defeat the last time these two teams met.

 Jack Menke was a  major factor no matter where he played. He  didn't allow a single  earned run over seven innings pitched. What's more,  he posted four  strikeouts, the most he's  had since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with two  runs. Bishop Machebeuf is 8-1 when  Menke posts two or  more  runs, but 1-7 otherwise.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Miles Edgar, who  went 2-for-3 with three  RBI, one  triple,  and one  run. That's the most  RBI  he has posted since back in March.
Bishop Machebeuf now  has a winning record of 9-8. As for Lyons,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 8-10.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bishop Machebeuf will head out to  take on Platte Canyon  at 1:00  p.m.  on Saturday. The Huskies have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.06  runs per game on average), something the Buffaloes will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Lyons, they will venture away from home to  face off against Dawson School  at 11:00  a.m.  on Saturday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 8.8  runs per game this season.
