Baseball Recap: Westview Gets the Win

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Westview ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Sunset Apollos 7-6. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Henry Dunn looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Malachi O'Brien, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

The win got Westview back to even at 9-9. As for Sunset, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-9.

Westview will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Apollos: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
