Marian's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Papillion-LaVista, they suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 7-2.

Marian took their win against Papillion-LaVista in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Crusaders since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
