Baseball Game Preview: Northside Methodist Academy Knights vs. Ashford Yellowjackets

The Northside Methodist Academy Knights will head out on the road to take on the Ashford Yellowjackets at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Northside Methodist Academy is headed into Saturday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight games on Thursday. They lost 12-1 to Eufaula.

Northside Methodist Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabriel Siemens, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Ashford's offense. They came up short against Houston Academy on Friday, falling 13-0.

Northside Methodist Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Ashford, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-4.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Northside Methodist Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Ashford struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Northside Methodist Academy might still be hurting after the 18-8 loss they got from Ashford in their previous matchup back in February. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
