Middlesex extended their winning streak to nine on Thursday, bumping them up to 18-1. They never let the Sayreville Bombers get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. The Bluejays have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bombers, too.

As for Sayreville, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-8-1 record. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss they have suffered since May 27, 2025.

For Sayreville's part, Jaden Phillips was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Phillips has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.
