Softball Recap: West Blocton Comes Up Short

Austin hit West Blocton with a five-run first inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Tigers came up short against the Black Bears, falling 11-1.

Jacey Register was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

West Blocton's defeat dropped their record down to 14-11-2. As for Austin, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 30-15 record this season.

West Blocton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 5-0 loss against Northside on the 25th. Austin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
