Softball Recap: American Leadership Academy Comes Up Short

American Leadership Academy lost against Saluda back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Patriots fell 6-3 to the Tigers. The Patriots just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Ellie Beers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and five unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up nine Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game.

On the hitting side, Brennan Wilson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she launched this season.

American Leadership Academy's record now sits at 5-13-1. As for Saluda, the win (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 14-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. American Leadership Academy will host Spring Valley at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Saluda, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pelion at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season.
