While Carrollton's victory against Richmond wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Trojans had just enough and edged out the Spartans 3-2 on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won eight in a row.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (104-98) Carrollton actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-21, 25-22, 13-25, 15-11.

Kacie Swearingin paced Carrollton's offense, picking up 12 kills. Swearingin got some help from Kinsey Fisher and her 27 assists. Fisher also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Maddie Stovall, each putting up five.

Carrollton's victory bumped their record up to 17-7. As for Richmond, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season.

As of now, neither Carrollton nor Richmond have any future games scheduled.
