Baseball Recap: Friday's Loss Ends Pomeroy's Winning Streak

After flying high against Tekoa-Rosalia last Saturday, Pomeroy came back down to earth. The Pirates took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dayton Bulldogs on Friday. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Jett Slusser put in work while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
