Volleyball Game Preview: Pajaro Valley Grizzlies vs. Kirby Prep Griffins

The Pajaro Valley Grizzlies will face off against the Kirby Prep Griffins at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Pajaro Valley and 16 for Kirby Prep dating back to last season.

On Monday, Pajaro Valley didn't have quite enough to beat Watsonville and fell 3-2.

Pajaro Valley wouldn't go down easily and took Watsonville into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking four-point loss. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-12, 26-28, 22-25, 15-11.

Meanwhile, Kirby Prep came up short against Watsonville on Thursday, falling 3-0. The shutout was out of character for the Griffins seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Watsonville scored at least 17 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-19, 25-17.

Kirby Prep's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Pajaro Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

Pajaro Valley skirted past Kirby Prep 3-2 when the teams last played back in March. Will the Grizzlies repeat their success, or do the Griffins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
