Bayside and Salem are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2017, but likely not for long. The Marlins will take on the Sundevils at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

On Tuesday, Bayside didn't have quite enough to beat Kempsville and fell 2-1. The Marlins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bayside saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Barry Farias Jr, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Salem was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against Landstown, falling 22-0.

Salem's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Bayside, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.

Bayside took their victory against Salem when the teams last played two weeks ago by a conclusive 18-10 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Marlins since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
