Basketball Game Preview: Emmetsburg E'Hawks vs. Newell-Fonda Mustangs

The Emmetsburg E'Hawks are taking a road trip to challenge the Newell-Fonda Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Emmetsburg will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.

Last Saturday, Emmetsburg was able to grind out a solid win over South O'Brien, taking the game 45-37.

Meanwhile, Newell-Fonda came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Jaguars by a score of 65-58.

Newell-Fonda's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points per game. As for Emmetsburg, their win bumped their record up to 12-3.

Everything went Emmetsburg's way against Newell-Fonda when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as Emmetsburg made off with a 73-53 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Emmetsburg since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
