Baseball Recap: Springstead Takes a Loss

After flying high against Weeki Wachee last Friday, Springstead came back down to earth. The Eagles came up short against the Hernando Leopards on Tuesday, falling 11-1. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Leopards apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Springstead saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joey Rief, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Springstead's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Hernando, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-8 record this season.

Springstead has already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Sunlake on the 3rd. As for Hernando, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 4-2 loss against Mitchell on the 2nd.
