Basketball Recap: Newton Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Newton unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell to the Hopatcong Chiefs 63-59. The Braves' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it 16 in a row dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newton will be home for the holidays to greet Sussex County Tech at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopatcong will take on Kittatinny Regional in a holiday battle at at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
