Basketball Recap: Desert Christian Comes Up Short

Desert Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat. They took a blow against the Santa Clarita Christian Cardinals, falling 82-31. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 94-57 back in January.

Despite the loss, Desert Christian had strong showings from Blake Jones, who posted nine points and six rebounds, and Joshua Nuzum, who put up 12 points and six boards. That was a full 38.7% of Desert Christian's points, marking the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Desert Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-19. As for Santa Clarita Christian, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 12-11 record.

Desert Christian will head out on the road to square off against Faith Baptist at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Faith Baptist will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Desert Christian surely won't give up without a fight. As for Santa Clarita Christian, they will welcome Lancaster Baptist at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Santa Clarita Christian is facing Lancaster Baptist at the right time seeing as Lancaster Baptist is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
