Basketball Recap: Mohave Accelerated Patriots vs. Needles Mustangs
If Mohave Accelerated was feeling good fresh off their 58-31 takedown of Trivium Prep last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mohave Accelerated Patriots were dealt a 64-26 loss at the hands of the Needles Mustangs on Thursday. The contest marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, Mohave Accelerated still got an impressive performance from Katie Farnell, who posted 13 points and four steals. Farnell is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 19 games she's played.
Gianna Collier was her usual excellent self, going 12 of 24 on her way to 32 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists for Needles. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which Collier has scored at least a third of Needles' points. Isabella Harvey was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 12 points and nine boards.
The defeat snapped Mohave Accelerated's winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 13-8 record. As for Needles, they pushed their record up to 15-3 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.
Mohave Accelerated wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 53-23 victory against Wickenburg on the 24th. As for Needles, they will head out to challenge GV Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
