Basketball Recap: Centauri Falcons vs. Alamosa Mean Moose
Centauri had lost three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 6-8 to make it four. They took a 49-31 bruising from the Alamosa Mean Moose. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mean Moose apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2025.
As for Alamosa, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 6-8. The contest marked their most dominant win of the season.
Victor Zepeda had another great game (as he tends to do), shooting 67% from the field to rack up 22 points along with five boards and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Alamosa's points. Another player making a difference was Kingston Wilcox, who went 5-for-10 on his way to 10 points in addition to five rebounds and three blocks.
We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Centauri is set to challenge their familiar foe Pagosa Springs at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Alamosa will face off against rival Ignacio at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
