Softball Recap: Lincoln Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Lincoln waltzed into their match on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Grove City Greyhounds. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-6 last Monday.

Grace Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kira Bailey, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Madi Hall, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one double.

Lincoln pushed their record up to 12-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Grove City, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lincoln will face off against Westerville North at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season. As for Grove City, they will take on Central Crossing at 5:15 p.m. on Monday.
