Basketball Game Preview: Lovejoy Wildcats vs. Newnan Cougars

Lovejoy is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Morrow just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 57-54.

Meanwhile, Newnan waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 56-46 victory over the Trojans.

Newnan's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.4 points per game. As for Lovejoy, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.

Lovejoy couldn't quite finish off Newnan when the teams last played back in December of 2023 and fell 62-60. Can Lovejoy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
