Baseball Recap: Holly Grove Christian Comes Up Short

Holly Grove Christian made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Salisbury Christian, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Eagles fell just short of Salisbury Christian by a score of 5-3 on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against Salisbury Christian this season, with their most recent defeat being a 12-1 loss last Wednesday.

Holly Grove Christian saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Forbush, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. Jeremiah Dagen also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Holly Grove Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Salisbury Christian, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-9.

Coming up, Holly Grove Christian will challenge Sts. Peter & Paul at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Salisbury Christian, they will take on Nandua at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
