Soccer Game Preview: Oceanside vs. La Costa Canyon

The Oceanside Pirates will face off against the La Costa Canyon Mavericks at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. La Costa Canyon took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Oceanside, who comes in off a win.

Oceanside gave up the first goal on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top in a nail-biter against San Dieguito Academy, sneaking past 2-1. Oceanside wouldn't have won without Leandro Ibarra, who scored the game-winner.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, La Costa Canyon's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 3-1 to Torrey Pines. While losing is never fun, La Costa Canyon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while Torrey Pines are ranked 16th).

Oceanside's victory bumped their record up to 6-4-6. As for La Costa Canyon, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6-2.
