Baseball Recap: Scott Comes Up Short

If Scott was riding high fresh off their 7-0 takedown of Grant County on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles came up short against the Highlands Bluebirds on Friday, falling 11-1. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bluebirds earlier this season, when they won 12-9.

Scott saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Allison, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI.

Scott's defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Highlands, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Scott will venture away from home to take on Campbell County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Highlands, they will head out to challenge Bishop Brossart at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bluebirds are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
