Basketball Recap: Brayden Burns and Tristan Terry Secure Win for Monroe

Monroe won the last time they faced Valdosta and things went their way on Saturday too. The Golden Tornadoes snuck past the Wildcats with a 57-51 win.

Monroe was led to victory by Tristan Terry and Brayden Burns. Terry shot 64% from the field en route to 23 points, while Burns posted 11 points along with four steals and four blocks. Those 23 points gave Terry a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Branden Massey, who put up four points and three steals.

Monroe pushed their record up to 2-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Monroe will be playing in front of their home fans against Terrell County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Valdosta, they are headed away from home for the first time to take on Wayne County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
