Softball Recap: Dilley Comes Up Short

If Dilley was feeling good fresh off their 14-7 takedown of Karnes City last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Dilley Wolves came up short against the Cuero Gobblers on Thursday, falling 16-1.

Danica Cano made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season.

Dilley's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Cuero, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2-1 record this season.

Dilley will take on King in a tournament on Thursday. King will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Dilley surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cuero, they will be taking part in a tournament against Ingleside at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. Ingleside will aim to continue their five-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
