Baseball Recap: Kettle Falls Takes a Loss

Kettle Falls fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Reardan on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Screaming Eagles by a score of 5-4. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Screaming Eagles earlier this season, when they won 5-4.

Zac Burch made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. He has become a key player for Kettle Falls: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 4-12 otherwise. Jaxon Fandery was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

This is the second loss in a row for Kettle Falls and nudges their season record down to 6-13. As for Reardan, the win snapped their losing streak at 12 games and leaves them with a 5-12 record.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Screaming Eagles beat Kettle Falls by a score of 4-2 later that day.
