Williston-Elko skates past Ridge Spring-Monetta with ease

Recap: Williston-Elko Blue Devils vs. Ridge Spring-Monetta Trojans

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bamberg-Ehrhardt, the Williston-Elko Blue Devils were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 62-35 win over Ridge Spring-Monetta on the road. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Williston-Elko also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.

Despite the loss, Ridge Spring-Monetta saw an underclassman step up: Taylah Leaphart scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Leaphart scored a full 48.6% of Ridge Spring-Monetta's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

The win got Williston-Elko back to even at 1-1. As for Ridge Spring-Monetta, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.

Williston-Elko will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Ridge Spring-Monetta at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully Ridge Spring-Monetta focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 33 on Thursday. As for they, they will head out on the road to face off against Williston-Elko at 6:30 p.m. Williston-Elko and Ridge Spring-Monetta are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
