League recap: Lucero's hot bat leads United

Miguel Lucero was the hottest hitter in the league this week, racking up a .273 average with six RBIs. His United team went 3-1.

Alexander currently sits at the top of the league with a mark of 24-3 overall and 16-2 in the league. The Longhorns are 3.00 games back and in second place with a 13-5 league record.

Cigarroa's pitching staff dominated this week, allowing only six hits and four walks, both of which led the league. The Toros have given up a mere 188 hits on the year in addition to compiling 119 strikeouts. Jose Flores is the leader in that category with 72 Ks on the season.

Winn's dominant pitching staff finished its week with a league-high 89 strikeouts, but still trails United for the season lead (227 Ks). The Mavericks have relied on ace Jose Rendon heavily this season, and he leads the team with 69 strikeouts over 56 innings.



The Longhorns's Hector Guevara finished his week with six hits, tops in the league. He is ninth in the league with 31 hits this year, and has a .397 batting average.

Aaron Navarro notched a multi-hit game on May 5, 2012 when he went 4-4 in United's 13-0 win against Palmview.
