Volleyball Recap: Auburndale Beats Haines City for Their Fifth Straight Win

Auburndale came tearing into Monday's contest with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Haines City Hornets. The Bloodhounds have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Hornets, too.

Auburndale had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 13-25, 25-19, 25-23, 25-19.

Auburndale was led to victory by Sebastian Crespo-Jimenez and Jariah Aguilar. Crespo-Jimenez had 32 digs and two assists, while Aguilar had 19 digs. Crespo-Jimenez is crushing it when it comes to digs: he's had at least 19 every time he's taken the court this season. Bray Weinacker also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Auburndale's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Haines City, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-11.

Looking ahead, Auburndale will take on Winter Haven at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Haines City, they will challenge Bartow at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
