Baseball Game Preview: Sanderson Spartans vs. Enloe Eagles

After both having extra time off, the Sanderson Spartans and the Enloe Eagles will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Sanderson and six for Enloe.

Sanderson lost 12-2 to Broughton two weeks ago. That's two games in a row now that the Spartans have lost by exactly ten runs.

Sanderson saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was JACOB LOVELACE, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. That RBI was LOVELACE's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Enloe came up short against Athens Drive two weeks ago and fell 7-2.

Malhar Shelke was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits.

Sanderson's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Enloe, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.

Everything went Sanderson's way against Enloe when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Sanderson made off with a 9-3 victory. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
