Softball Recap: Sumner Drops Season-High Score on Curtis

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sumner). They blew past the Curtis Vikings 15-3 on Thursday. The Spartans not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 15th (when they won 12-0).

Riley Meyers was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Korschinowski, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Sumner kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Sumner is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Curtis, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 14 of their last 15 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-18 record this season.

Sumner will square off against Spanaway Lake at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Curtis does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
