Football Recap: Modoc Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Modoc had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-4 to make it six. They were outmatched by the Redding Christian Lions and fell 60-6. The game marked the Braves' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Tyler Guasp threw for 81 yards on three of 11 attempts. Thomas Dolan was his top target, picking up 43 receiving yards.

As for Redding Christian, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their offensive performance: the team's won by an average of 35.4 points thus far.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Redding Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Levi Putnam, who rushed for 159 yards and a pair of TDs on only 12 carries. Putnam's longest rush was for an impressive 50 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Another passer making a difference was Wyatt Shaw, who threw for 222 yards and four touchdowns while completing 81.2% of his passes.

Modoc will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Weed at 7:30 p.m. on the 17th. The Braves will be up against the Cougars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 42.2 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Redding Christian, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 54-7 win against Trinity on the 10th.
