Softball Recap: Manzano Comes Up Short

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Manzano and West Mesa, and West Mesa kept the tradition alive. Manzano lost 19-3 to West Mesa on Thursday. If the Monarchs were looking for revenge after losing 18-2 to the Mustangs when the teams met back in March of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Shania Aragon was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 1-for-1. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Rios Duvall, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Manzano's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for West Mesa, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-6.

Manzano didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 10-7 win against Del Norte on the 21st. As for West Mesa, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 16-4 victory against St. Pius X on the 21st.
