Evergreen and D'Evelyn are an even 5-5 against one another since June of 2021, but likely not for long. The Cougars will venture away from home to face off against the Jaguars at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Evergreen is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
Evergreen barely beat Standley Lake the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cougars put the hurt on the Gators with a sharp 10-2 win on Friday. Considering the Cougars have won six matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Jackson Graham was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of James Mauro, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Dakota Ridge hit D'Evelyn with a seven-run fifth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Jaguars came up short against the Eagles, falling 11-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Jaguars have suffered since April 8th.
D'Evelyn saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Thomas Sweetman, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one double.
Evergreen has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.1 runs over those games. As for D'Evelyn, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-13.
Saturday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Evergreen has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .432. However, it's not like D'Evelyn struggles in that department as they've averaged .442. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Evergreen skirted past D'Evelyn 7-6 when the teams last played back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
