Basketball Recap: Hayziah Dillingham and Zaryah Tucker Secure Win for Asheville

There's no place like home for Asheville, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against the Enka Jets by a score of 59-51 on Wednesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cougars also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Asheville was led to victory by Zaryah Tucker and Hayziah Dillingham. Tucker went 8 for 15 on her way to 22 points, while Dillingham went 5 of 8 en route to 10 points in addition to six assists and six rebounds. Dillingham is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Elliot Scully, who posted four points and six boards.

Asheville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.

Asheville's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 10-9. As for Enka, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.

Asheville has already played their next game (against A.C. Reynolds), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Enka will host T.C. Roberson at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Enka is facing T.C. Roberson at the right time seeing as T.C. Roberson is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
